College says 4 (+1 extra 'false start/health emergencies' year)

Saas say 5???

Ds is down for an HNC - starts next week. New course. Modules still being finalised - just discovered they do not include ONE which his chosen Uni destination say is Essential - therefore if he does HNC he'd have to go in @Y1 therefore be a year short of funding ?

Anyone know the general rule ?

Funding covers HNC then 4 years at uni.
I know someone who's just graduated recently who did HNC then started 1st year at uni and got funding whole way through

I don't think so.
People who've done HND generally go into 3rd year at uni, occasionally 2nd.
Person I know only did HNC but had to start in 1st year Uni (can't remember the reason now) but definitely got funding whole way through
