New water connection. Cost?

Hi, has anyone had a new water connection installed recently that wouldn't mind sharing their costs? Also do Scottish Water deal with this right up to the house? Or only to the boundary?

Have you tried this? Cost will
depend on how far you are from existing mains www.scottishwater.co.uk/Business-and-Developers/NEW-Connecting-to-Our-Network/Single-Household-Customers

They do it right up to the house, cost depends on how far you are from the main supply, also on other factors. They also quote for sewage connection, or if you don’t have sewage pipes locally you have to arrange privately for the percolations tests etc for a septic tank but your architect etc will help you arrange that.

We are currently connected to water but it transpires it is a shared connection with our neighbour an it runs through their basement before it comes to us. They could turn off our water if they wanted, not that they would but the situation is not ideal. The start of the supply pipe is also lead, although tests show the level in the water to be very very low. We have the added complication of the house being raised from street level and having stone retaining walls and paving all the way up to the house. It all looks very complicated.
