Birthday party ideas for a 12 year old boy in Glasgow

My DS turns 12 in Sept and we are stumped for ideas for a party with his pals. He's been to a few of his friends' parties and he wants to do something different to them. So far he's been to the climbing thing at X scape, a film, bowling then meal at Nando's, a film at Everyman cinema in Princes Square and a film then a meal at Pizza Hut.
Any other ideas? He's into go carting etc but not sure if that will last long enough for a birthday party. Thanks

Are there still lazer quest places?
Escape room?

imstilljenny2 · 01/08/2022 14:15

@dementedpixie oh an escape room could be a good shout. He's done laser quest before for a birthday but think he'd like the escape rooms. I'll check it out.

Trampoline park?

imstilljenny2 · 01/08/2022 14:17

@FionnulaTheCooler ah sorry I should have said-he's done the trampoline park thing for about 3 birthdays now 😂 Loves it but prob won't do it again this year.

It might be a bit far, but I used to hand over “party responsibilities” to the Crieff hydro. The boys would be run ragged around the grounds doing some type of organised activity, then fed back at the hotel.

Escape rooms are great
Go karting party at scotkart in cambuslang is great for that age - my son's both been loads for parties &
with scouts etc

@Itsincidental he'd love that (but I've got visions of him trying to chop his pals' heads off!)

A tubing party? I think they do them at Bearsden & Bellahouston ski clubs.

Kallaxaddict · 01/08/2022 20:04

Can't remember the name of it but the watersports place on the river when you come off the motorway for Possil/ Saracen etc. They do tubing and paddle boarding. Sorry the name will come to me later lol

imstilljenny2 · 01/08/2022 22:32

Fab. I'll look into these. Thanks!

Sledging at Braehead? The clip and climb place in Kelvinhall? Airthrill but it's in East Kilbride so depends how far that is for you.

emmathedilemma · 02/08/2022 11:05

this one @Kallaxaddict ? pinkston.co.uk/

Kallaxaddict · 02/08/2022 14:48

Lazerquest at Kinning Park or Combat City at Cambuslang it's outdoors.
Paintballing at Paisley

We attended a birthday here before. Had escape room and lazer quest and an area to have food. The party we went to had a loaf of pizzas delivered and that went down a treat 👍🏻

LarryIsNotHappy · 03/08/2022 06:22

I'd also recommend the escape room. I'd check out Groupon or Wowcher, as they often offer special deals.

imstilljenny2 · 03/08/2022 09:09

@Ohexcellent sounds brilliant thanks. I'll check this place out.
