NPA level 6 results but with NO GRADE ??

Ds has just received his NPA level 6 award results.
There is a 'pass' certificate. A Profiles certificate.
A Record of attainment (showing the 3 units, 2 graded at '6' 1 at '9')
A Summary of attainment in which the grade for the whole course box is Empty?

Ds finished his course & submitted all his work on time.
Last year, the students were given a grade.
He was told by his Tutor that he would just get a pass / fail as 'by the time I was due to start grading your work I was on strike'. Ds is aware that others on course this year, who handed in their work a few days before 'were graded' apparantly.

He has Autism. It's really hard for him. It's difficult to complain at College as his Tutor for this course will also be his Tutor next year (& is a bit of an arse).

Can anyone translate these results please? I get that he has passed (hurrah)
but
What do the record of attainment figures mean & why is the overall grade box empty?

Where I teach, the NPAs we offer are not graded they are a straight pass/fail or units awarded if the whole award has not been achieved. However, I don't deliver them and don't profess to be an expert.

@Lidlfix
Hi. thanks for replying x
It's possible that the others on the course (there were only 4 that finished it...) didn't get 'grades' & were either winding up Ds (he has ASD) or he is mistaken.
But we've not had Scottish grades before so I wasn't sure of the system.

Is a grade 9 for one of his units a good grade? is a grade 6?
(I appreciate that he has passed I'm just trying to cheer him up)
Have looked at the SQA site & none the wiser tbh!

There was a post from the SQA on twitter about grades which I understood meant that some quantifications were ungraded. The section headed ‘why is there no grade on my certificate for my course?’ Seems (to me) to indicate that they are not graded? www.sqa.org.uk/sqa/72074.html Such a shame that is unclear! Great that he has passed congratulations!

NPAs are not graded, simply pass or fail. Units are not graded, only full courses eg N5 Biology/H Maths are graded. You get A band 1 and 2, B band 3 and 4, C band 5 and 6, D band 7. Any other banding is a fail (off the top of my head band 8 is 40-44% and band 9 is 35-39%).
