Peebles High School - Would you recommend?

Hi, I'm looking for some local feedback on Peebles High School. We are due to be relocating to Peebles this Summer from Oxfordshire. I have 2 sons 10 and 12 and due to covid have not been able to look around any schools and therefore haven't had as much to go on as I would like.
Are there any local parents with high school age children on here that would be willing to share their opinions on the please?

Has anyone with current or recent experience of Peebles High School got any views they could share please?
I’m suddenly feeling more concerned and could really do with an insight into experiences if possible please. Both are very academic and the youngest is very keen on sport too.

I have children currently at PHS. Unless you are going to possibly send you children private you don't really have much choice. All of the other schools are very far away. It is one of the best in the Borders. I don't think it's amazing but it does have a decent catchment and a lot of pupils who are academic. Children with English accents will be readily accepted too, no issues with that.

Also to add your younger one will have at least a year of primary school left up here.

Thank you @LadyDanburysHat we definitely wouldn't be considering private schools, so yes, Peebles would be our only option, it sounds hopefully on a par with our current secondary, and good to hear English accents are accepted :)
Quite a worry to move my 12 year old after a year in Secondary here, he is not keen at all but to date, everyone I've met in Peebles has been very friendly so I'm hoping the kids are too!

I’m not sure if you are still looking for information but there are three good primary schools in Peebles as well as good schools in the surrounding towns. There are so many sporting opportunities as well, it’s a great way for kids to meet each other and people are welcoming and friendly.
