Inverness in the rain

Hello, I’m hoping the lovely Mumsnetters of Scotland can help.

Heading to Inverness for the long weekend and just checked the forecast for Saturday. Looks rubbish!

Does anyone have suggestions for a few things to do on the Saturday? We have a 5 and a 2 year old. Staying very central but no car. Not opposed to sticking the waterproofs on for half a day but would prefer not to spend all day soaking wet.

We've booked a boat/castle trip for Sunday and thankfully the weather looks dry for that day.

Thanks very much!

Ice rink? Swimming pool? Cinema?

Swimming pool is a good idea, they both like swimming. Will look into options. Thank you.

Swimming pool a good idea, it's a great pool and there is a glass house place near the carpark that might be okay for a wander through and i think it has a cafe. Cinema is also in the town centre and there is a shopping centre you can wander in, haven't been for years so no idea what is open in there now. If it's not too bad then there is a great play park (Duthies park?) that has a duck pond (maybe boating?) and used to have a mini steam train you could pay to ride on.

It's Whin Park i'm thinking of. It's near the pool and the botanic gardens so could be a good area to spend the day.

Thank you @BinBandit will check that area out.
