Home Report Advice

Hi

We had an incident with taps being left on in an upstairs bathroom and our kitchen ceiling has some plaster that's came away . Will this be detailed on a home report? I'm trying to figure out if I need to get it fixed as we are having our home report done in a couple of days so it's tight if so.

Thanks

Hi, the surveyor is obliged to report what they find on the day so I'd think this would be something they'd include. They would normally also suggest what needs to be done to remedy it though so it's not necessarily a deal breaker. Might be worth postponing for a few days until it dries out though?

Thanks, I've actually managed to get a plasterer out tomorrow so hopefully it'll be sorted in time.

It will still be noted if the plaster is wet and undecorated. You'd be better postponing until the work is complete.

We went to see a house last year and they must have had a leak in the bathroom, or overflow or similar and it must have come through to lounge. There was no mention of this in home report but we noticed the poorly repaired ceiling in lounge. It was the estate agent taking the viewing and they couldn't explain what had happened. We walked away from that one as couldn't trust the home report.
