What is Dundee like to live in? I have visited and we are considering moving there, but what is it really like to live there? Tell me things only locals would know please.

That the best place to live is Broughty Ferry Grin.

The West End is most desirable, but there are a lot of students around some parts so depends on who you would want as neighbours .

I like Dundee but would always prefer to be in The Ferry (as they call it). Dundee has changed a lot for the better since I moved here in 2004. Sadly the city centre has been decimated by the impact of covid. There are so many empty shops and cafes that it’s depressing (esp Debenhams). But I expect that’s true of quite a few places. I hope it will bounce back in time.

The Tay is beautiful and there are some amazing views to enjoy. Close to lovely countryside. Reasonably priced property, good schools in the West end, not so sure about other areas.

Thanks. Yes Broughton Ferry looked best for a family.

Also Newport on Tay, Wormit, Tayport are just across the river from Dundee and have excellent amenities.

Good parks, decent food, easy to access countryside, forests and beaches, no real congestion. I didn't ever think I would end up here but I've been here over ten years now and think it is an excellent area for bringing up our children

Every single word you said! Ferry born and bred and wouldn’t consider anywhere else!
