Contraceptive implant

I have been unsuccessfully using the NHS Scotland online booking system to book an appointment to have a contraceptive implant inserted. There appear to be no appointments available in any location or timeframe. Has anyone managed to book an appointment recently or does anyone know of an alternative way to access this service? GPs in our area do not do them so that’s not an option.

www.nhsinform.scot/care-support-and-rights/nhs-services/sexual-health/sexual-health-services-online-appointments-booking-system is it this you are using? Does it not bring up any contact details for them?

There is a number for my local health board booking line but they use the same system and say no appointments. I can’t believe there is nothing available in the whole of Scotland!

www.sexualhealthscotland.co.uk/get-help/sexual-health-service-finder maybe try this with your postcode

Thanks @dementedpixie I have tried that too and it links to the same booking portal. Am going to get in touch with my surgery anyway and see what they suggest. So frustrating.

I tried to get one pre covid and the wait was about three months, so that may well be right. I just went back on the pill. (Auto corrected to back on the pull, which changes the sentiment somewhat!)

Thank you! I’m on something in the interim but not getting on well with it. Will see what the GP says.
