Houses for sake

I am looking to buy a property somewhere rural but not in the back of beyond. Possible areas include other likes of Callender / Dunblane / Dunkeld / Newtonmore, 3/4 bed, doesn’t need much doing to it, £350k to £550k. There is next to nothing on the market at the moment. Is this normal?

Not that it's anywhere near any of the areas you've mentioned but I wasn't sure if it needed to be or not. I love these houses and this one might fit the bill Grin

I think it's typically the quietest time of year for houses coming onto the market unless people have a deadline by which they need to move. Also bear in mind that a lot of people, including estate agents and surveyors etc. have been on leave for the last 2 weeks. I'd give it a couple of months if you can wait.

It’s for a relative who is looking to move. Just seems unusually quiet at the moment.

It’s really quiet at the moment, but there’s not been much hanging around in that price bracket in Callander, Dunblane and dunkeld for the last 12 months.

Sorry don't know anything about those areas but Property market in Scotland usually picks up from late January onwards

If you're open to new builds worth visiting Cala etc as you can visit the show home and buy off plan before things get listed on property websites. Yes, this is about the bottom of the property market, house availability wise. Few want to show or move in the pits of winter or around the festive season. I

We always found Late January for houses going up for sale.
