My sister has a job interview next week for this role and I was just wondering if anyone already does the job and could explain the role a bit better? She had the job description but she hasn’t done anything like this before (or so she thinks!)

Hello OP - we're just bumping this for you to see if anyone can help.

Thanks @YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet just thought I would chance my luck but it’s not a popular job as far as we can see!

Would it help to broaden your question to the sector, rather than specific role?

Sorry if this isn't helpful. I don't know what a MST coordinator us.

I sometimes attend MDTs. What is required of the co-ordination varies slightly. In ours, the co-ordinator creates the list from referrals, checks attendees (there need to be enough people), arranges the room booking, sorts the IT which includes a remote link in from a distant hospital and having relevant medical records available. They take the notes during the meeting (and this is recording eg treatment plans, so need to be precise) compile and send the report timeously after the meeting (that day, not three weeks later).
I’m fairly sure the coordinator also does a bunch of stuff I don’t see like compiling figures for various audits and reports.
So excellent typing, spelling, familiarity with medical terminology (altho some of that can be learned with a good medical dictionary), super organised, good it skills, moderately assertive.

Thanks @Fireweeds she is already a senior admin and deals with MS teams meetings. Would you recommend it as a job?

Oh goodness, I don’t know! 😂 I’m pretty sure I couldn’t do it well. I should think demands & stress levels might vary quite a bit by discipline? So theMDT I’m referring to involves cancer pathways, so different professionals and stresses than say a complex social care MDT. The MDT coordinators I know manage more than one MDT and are held in quite high regard (especially noticeable when they go on leave & someone less good takes over).
As senior admin I would expect that she has at least the basic skills for the role. But like I say, it’s not actually a job I do, just one i see.

My apologies @Fireweeds I thought I had replied! It’s a job within the NHS and I guess without sounding cheeky it’s maybe like a secretary for several people or several teams?

God I’m not having a good night. The apology was for @AbandonedCharacter!

Thanks for the input though @Fireweeds definitely helpful!
