Is there a normal time that the booking opens? I know Nicola announced yesterday that they were bookable from today but so far it’s not allowing me to book.

BBC website says 10am.

@LizzieMacQueen Oh really? That’s great thanks! I’ve been searching this morning and couldn’t see any times mentioned at all for Scotland 🙈 just that England was open to book

It’s now live - incredibly slow though. So much for Nippy pledging for all adults to have a booster by the end of the year - I can’t find any availability until into January for my local centres - NHS Grampian area.

@Toottooot Hope you get one soon! Literally the only appointment I could get was half an hour before I start work on Sunday so hopefully they’re running on time 🤞🏼

Tried to arrange an online appointment but I can't find my appointment letter with password and tried to reset it with no luck.

Have given up and just hoping there will be a drop in clinic for 30-39 age group 🤷

HarrisMcCoo · 13/12/2021 14:02

Queue on the helpline is 45 minutes. Don't have time for this kind of wait today.

@HarrisMcCoo I had to recover my username and reset my password as I couldn’t remember either of them and didn’t have any letters to hand but it worked pretty seamlessly for me! Hopefully you get it sorted soon!

DD in E Ayrshire can't find any availability until January 🤷‍♀️.

Toottooot · 13/12/2021 15:13

Aberdeenshire are doing walk ins at the weekend for boosters but not Aberdeen city I believe.

HarrisMcCoo · 13/12/2021 16:44

PannettoneSeason I am glad you have had success.

I get "password reset error" coming up on the screen and can't go any further.

I am sure drop in clinics will open soon.

PanettoneSeason · 13/12/2021 19:17

@ICouldHaveCheckedFirst I know so many people the same! I must have just been lucky!

@Toottooot @HarrisMcCoo I’m sure it won’t be long before the walk ins start 🤞🏼Although hopefully they’re nothing like the chaos in England today 😳 5 hour long queues!

There's no availability at all in my area. Tried right up to end of January.

If it is any good, the Galleon in kilmarnock still has quite a few appointments on 24th and 31st. Other dates pop up now and again as people change theirs. I changed mine fairly easily and brought forward 3 times.
HarrisMcCoo · 14/12/2021 07:09

Took 1hr 15 minutes but I got through on the helpline - getting booster Christmas Eve in a neighbouring health region. Want to get it out the way this year.

Yep. I was told over the phone on the helpline that for my own health authority, we would be looking at mid February before a booster appointment would be available 😯

That's insane! Why is availability so poor in some areas? I just went to book mine a minute ago and I got an appointment for Saturday(First available day), yet others are having to wait until February? WTF is going on. If it's so important to get them then why aren't they making appointments available ASAP?

Starcaller · 14/12/2021 12:03

Got mine for Friday by booking in an adjacent area that had plenty of dates. My own area had nothing at any of the centres till early Jan. Worth trying if you're quite near another health district.

PanettoneSeason · 14/12/2021 12:26

I’m wondering if they’re still trying to confirm vaccinators and venues for some areas since it was all announced so suddenly? 🤔 some places around us have nothing, others have loads, and some had a 3 hour wait at vaccine centres last weekend WITH appointments 😳

That might be why. I looked at another venue in my county and was able to get an appointment even sooner(Thursday instead of Saturday) so I've booked that instead.

It's madness that there are countless appointments available here yet elsewhere in the country no one can get booked until February. Hopefully availability will even out soon.

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 15/12/2021 10:29

DD got on last night and got an appointment next week, so they must have made more available. Thanks all for the suggestions anyway.
