How long for a PCR result?

Just wondering how long people are waiting for PCR results just now? Have been told that it’s 72 hours!

About 18 hours here - test done yesterday at 11.30am, results received at 5.30am today

Did mine Wednesday and straight back in post 3pm Wednesday,

It only arrived at centre today at 12am.
No results yet.

My office have all had them done this week - most were within 24 hours, one lad was closer to 40. Several centres used.

The testing centre was pretty quiet, fingers crossed. I’ll be well hacked off if it’s positive! 10 days isolation or more

28 hours for me (England). Test 12.30 yesterday, result 4.30 this afternoon.

Last week in Edinburgh walk through one test took about 1.5 days the other 2.5 days.

DS last Sunday had his results 25 hours later but I know a couple of people who the previous week waited longer - 34 hours and 45 hours (all west of Scotland and drive through appts).

I posted my test on Thursday at 12.20 noon.

Nearly 48 hours now. All previous ones have been much quicker.

Can I ask how you know it's at the testing centre please?? I can't find any way of tracking.

Was going to phone them but I bet that will bother them cause it's not been 72 hours.

We got the result after 22.5 hours. The test was done in Stirling and thankfully it was negative.

The woman doing my vaccination said she waited 72 hours recently. I’ve always had mine within 12 hours previously though.

60 hours for me. Test on Thursday evening, result first thing Sunday . West of Scotland drive-through appointment.

we were back today (in a massive queue!) and were told 12-48 hours when last Sunday we were told 24-48 hours, don't know if they are trying to speed up the process cause of omicron?

think the queue was due to the rule changes - DS was caught as a close contact in a school class, and our whole household has to self isolate and get a PCR because it's a probable omicron case. DH and I will be able to end self-isolation if we're all negative but DS has to finish the full ten days isolation even if negative. the messaging around that is still really vague online!

Edinburgh airport was really busy yesterday. The tester said most likely 48 hours for tests. Dd only got hers with 21 hours as it was her weekly work one.

29 hours for a busy Christmas Day test centre.

told 2-5 days at local walk in centre this morning.

Had a PCR at 9am. Results at 8pm. I'm still negative.

yes -update: test this morning at 10 , results this evening 8pm. positive.
