Booster jab booking

So it appears we're now eligible for a booster jab, which we would like to get before going to see family at Christmas.

I tried the online booking and there is no availability at the 3 centres I tried. I could try them all I guess but the booking system is driving me crazy! Does anyone have any ideas how to avoid the booking? Can I use a drop in clinic? Thanks in advance!

It's a bit rubbish but you have to just keep checking unfortunately. Boosters aren't available as a drop-in in my area, I suspect it's the same nationwide.

I was able to bring my appointment forward from next Friday to Monday earlier today, but nothing had been available for Monday over the last few days. I had been checking a few times a day at different times.

Go for the biggest centre when you're selecting the options. Keep checking at different times. I was also able to bring my appointment forward several days once I'd booked it. It's a very frustrating system!

Thanks! I remember it was a pain to change appointments before, but at least you had a slot then. Was hoping things have gotten better!
I'll see if Lothian has anything about boosters and drop-in, but I suspect you're right and that's reserved for 1st and 2nd doses.

I'm in Fife and it's possible to get a booster at a drop in clinic. Didn't realise it wasn't the case everywhere!

The system is a pain in the arse.
You need to keep checking several times a day.

Thanks @Sofuckingsad for suggesting the bigger centres! Managed to get a slot on the weekend before we set off for Christmas at the highland centre which is a pain to get to from here without car. Maybe I'll manage to book a better slot tonight when I can waste more time on this!

Hi @Callisto1 Lothian aren't doing drop ins for booster (yet anyway). Like @ParkheadParadise says it's a pain in the neck but appointments do randomly appear throughout the day.
