Still plenty to chat about. Remember this isn't fight club. Nice chatting required..... Grin

I've just ran around the garden picking up recycling that had blown out of bins! They were supposed to go out last night but I left them till this morning as they're more sheltered in there usual spot..not sheltered enough, it seems.

Too dark yet to see if anything else has been displaced...

prettybird · 31/01/2022 08:36

The garden fleece that we had attempted to wrap around our ceanothus (which had been damaged by the frost last year) is now scattered, in ripped pieces, around the garden Hmm

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 31/01/2022 09:42

We seem to be relatively unscathed so far. It sounded windy last night, but no damage and it's quite still now.

GrouchyKiwi · 31/01/2022 09:54

The wind on Friday was horrible. Not so bad for us last night.

For anyone interested, after his interview the other week, DS was given a challenge to do which he completed and submitted, they then contacted him as they want to discuss how he went about it. DH says they might want to check he did it himself, I'm inclined to think it's just standard practice? He's speaking to them on Thursday so sure we'll find out then.

So, for interview he wore the only shirt he has that fits, does he wear that again, just wear a plain-ish smart t-shirt or will he need something else?

prettybird · 31/01/2022 19:53

He should just wear the shirt he wore before. I'm sure they won't even remember what he wore last time Wink

WouldBeGood · 31/01/2022 20:07

Sounds promising @ElephantOfRisk. I agree, same shirt. If he wants a different one ASOS is the place to shop for cheap but good things.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 31/01/2022 20:09

Just wear the shirt, they won't remember. Sounds like they're looking to understand how the task was approached, how he works etc. perhaps to distinguish between a couple of candidates who have done well.

ElephantOfRisk · 31/01/2022 20:24

Thanks folks, the shirt hasn't appeared in the wash so who knows what he has done with it - I guess he only wore it for half an hour and they wont be able to smell it, so as long as it looks clean it'll be fine. Or he could actually wash it....

I'm hoping it's just to understand his thought process. We said to him to deliver exactly what they asked for but if there was something extra he could do in order to make himself stand out, he should do that too. He says he delivered both things. I suppose it's that type of thing that you could get someone else to do it for you and cheat so maybe it's also just an extra check.

He hasn't heard from anyone else, I'm not sure when they would decide they have enough applicants and start contacting everyone, not all the jobs had closing dates though some did. Maybe he's just not going to hear back.

Just had a call from my Dad in NZ. He's losing his job of 47 years because he won't have the Covid vaccine. Stops working next week. Doesn't work in healthcare or teaching or anything like that; is a manager in a meat-processing plant (and a meat inspector). I'm so angry.

(I think he should have the vaccine, but it's his choice, not mine.)

WouldBeGood · 01/02/2022 09:22

That’s just awful @GrouchyKiwi. I’m pro vaccine but very anti forced vaccination.

ElephantOfRisk · 01/02/2022 09:24

That's disgraceful. I truly believe that anything other than personal choice in this is wrong.

I need advice! So, I have tickets for the races on Saturday. Rolled over from cancelled new year ones. DP said hotels too expensive (rugby) so go another time. But I’d lose my ticket money. DD (grown up) is keen to go and split cost hotel, but if I go with her DP will not be pleased as it’s my child free weekend. What to do?!

WouldBeGood · 01/02/2022 19:37

I should add that DP is in no way impoverished 😃

ElephantOfRisk · 01/02/2022 20:44

YOLO Grin

I think if he chooses not to go then he can't complain if you make other arrangements.

Good point! Girls’ day carousing coujd be fun 😃

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 01/02/2022 20:57

After two years of life being so restricted? I would definitely go! I'm sure your DP can entertain himself Grin

GrouchyKiwi · 02/02/2022 09:40

So are you going to go WouldBeGood? Because I agree with everyone else; you definitely should!

WouldBeGood · 02/02/2022 09:54

Thanks guys. I’m minded to, but will decide later, I’ve got my MRI scan on my knee today and bizarrely am now stressing about that!

GrouchyKiwi · 02/02/2022 13:41

Hope you get answers from the scan Would.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 02/02/2022 15:02

Oh good luck with the scan @WouldBeGood , hope you get good news.

WouldBeGood · 02/02/2022 16:41

Thanks all, done and discuss results with doc on Monday.

How’s everyone doing?

shouldistop · 02/02/2022 20:41

Ds1 developed a raging temperature today, I think he's got the dreaded Covid since half of his class have it.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 02/02/2022 20:56

Oh that's ribbish @shouldistop, I hope the symptoms pass quickly!

ElephantOfRisk · 02/02/2022 20:56

Oh dear, sorry to hear that @shouldistop. hope he feels better soon.

And good luck for the results on Monday @WouldBeGood
