@ssd

I find it so odd how you can have covid but no symptoms

Does this mean you can have the flu but no symptoms?

Really weird

I find it really odd but I do think it's the vaccines. Dd is triple, Dh got his booster on the 14th so not sure. Dd has only developed a cough now and ds was due his booster on Tuesday. I'm triple vaccinated too. Ds had moderna as his first 2. DD's boyfriend is triple vaccinated too.

I actually read my result and Dh was like you positive too and I was like no 😕. I'd convinced myself I was asymptotic. It is a shock that I don't have Covid.

ElephantOfRisk · 26/12/2021 22:34

That's the thing though @groovee. There are people who just have natural immunity or even though it's very infectious some people just don't seem to get things even though you'd expect them to. Once DS2 had impetigo, highly infectious and yet no-one else in the house caught it, even DS1 who shared a bedroom, a bathroom, probably towels (they definitely had their own but not sure that they actually stuck to that) and definitely had shared a bath with him.

I think you could probably test positive for loads of things without knowing you had them. We just don’t test. And you can get norovirus in the house without everyone getting it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyway, hope people aren’t too unwell or fed up 💐

ssd · 27/12/2021 08:06

Thats true, i guess without knowing it we could all have stuff without knowing. We dont test for anything else without symptoms, except the big stuff we get screening for.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 27/12/2021 09:34

I suppose there are various things you can be a carrier of but don't get ill. Around one in ten people carry the bacteria that causes meningitis.

shouldistop · 27/12/2021 10:05

Urgh baby ds is cutting 2 new teeth and having a reaction to his jags he got the other day. I held him, literally, all night. He's having a nap now and I'm watching ds1 do some colouring in. Dh is having a lie in as he was out yesterday. I'm going to ask him to take them out this afternoon so I can chill.

WouldBeGood · 27/12/2021 11:09

I did not know that @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo!

@shouldistop oh no. A break for you this afternoon seems fair

shouldistop · 27/12/2021 16:10

@WouldBeGood they went out at 12.30 to his mums then David Lloyd, still not back. I haven't slept but I watched gladiator which is almost as good.

Groovee · 27/12/2021 18:41

@shouldistop that sucks. Glad you got a break

Groovee · 28/12/2021 20:39

DD's boyfriend and I had PCRs this morning. He was positive. I'm still negative.

ecceromani · 28/12/2021 20:58

Is everyone still well @Groovee ?
I think mr G was asymptomatic?

ElephantOfRisk · 28/12/2021 21:46

DS2 home from Uni and I was sorting through a pile of clean washing picking out the ironing. Anyway, I starting making a pile of his pants and found that some are age 13/14? He's 20, 6'2, 15 stone with a 36" waist. It's not like they were bought when he was 13 or 14. He's probably had them since he was 11 or 12!

I've suggested that it might be time to say goodbye and maybe wear the new ones he got from Santa! Xmas Grin

DD's boyfriend is a bloody whinged. Dd and ds have a slight cough. Mr G is grand 😂 the first time I've likely said this year

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 29/12/2021 14:52

Oh those mince pies look good. We have far too much cheese, chocolate and Christmas cake left. Normally I'd take it all into the office next year...

ssd · 29/12/2021 17:14

Those look great @prettybird

Groovee · 29/12/2021 17:17

Oh pretty bird... what are you doing with 117 of them

prettybird · 29/12/2021 18:08

@Groovee : dh and ds love them, as does SIL and I give away 4-6 at a time to friends. A whole bunch went up the last session of Women's Rugby Training before Christmas which I didn't go to Xmas Smile They soon disappear! Xmas Grin

We got left with the home baking due to Covid! I'm sure I've gained weight

I've taken the Christmas decs down. Had bought some lovely new things so have put them up.

shouldistop · 30/12/2021 11:46

I've gained about 4lbs recently Sad

shouldistop · 30/12/2021 11:48

Just got my booster jag. Going to go for a swim later and try to burn off some of the Christmas food. Will be back on a strict diet after new year

ElephantOfRisk · 30/12/2021 11:52

It's understandable as you've been out of your routine @shouldistop and there is just so much extra stuff around to eat and drink over the festive period. You've done so well overall and you have work starting after the new year I think, so your whole timetable will be up in the air until you settle back in. I wouldn't put yourself under any extra pressure for a few weeks to be honest.
