Did anyone get venison this year or even the chance of it?
Because of The Plague no one been out so very little about around here.
(South of England)

@ssd

Oh no *@Groovee*, thats rotten. Were you travelling somewhere from an airport, sorry if I've missed that.
Our local drive through test site is Edinburgh Airport. Lots of testing with full cars.

Test and protect have text so isolating until the 3rd 🙄

GrouchyKiwi · 25/12/2021 14:15

Merry Christmas, everyone. Star

Rotten luck, Groovee. Hope you manage to have a good day anyway.

Your food looks amazing prettybird.

We've just finished our dinner. DH is now trying to put casters onto a large wooden box that houses the children's new 1000 wooden blocks. The children have made it look like a hurricane has rampaged through the living room, and they're playing nicely. I've got my feet up with a glass of wine and the dog sleeping beside me. It's all lovely, despite the 2 1/2 hours of sleep I got last night. Definitely starting to need more coffee...

Groovee · 25/12/2021 14:19

We were hosting so we had to cancel everyone.

We had starters and soup and main. Now chilling.

Awh Groovee your food looks awesome but isolating until almost the end of the holidays 💔

ssd · 25/12/2021 14:40

That plate of food looks bloody good @Groovee, hope your guests manage to get something, what rotten luck for you all.

We'll eat about half 5, ds not long up.

Groovee · 25/12/2021 16:56

Yeah I have an Inservice day on the 5th. But it's on teams but not back in until the 10th thankfully.

I had cooked then frozen most of the veg so it just needed reheated once defrosted and I sent packs of kilted sausages with stuffing then a plate of meat. Everyone has been fed. Had 2 puddings in protest to Covid. We've been sooooo lucky up to now.

ssd · 25/12/2021 19:06

You deserve 2 puddings 👍

WouldBeGood · 25/12/2021 23:53

Oh @Groovee just can’t believe that! Least you had good food!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 26/12/2021 07:41

That's rotten luck @Groovee. Our guests had covid and couldn't come, but we had a couple of days notice.

titsintiers · 26/12/2021 09:33

Ffs this is the year that keeps giving @Groovee hopefully you stay well and the time passes quickly for you.

Groovee · 26/12/2021 09:56

I might just sell my 2021 story line to one of the soaps 😂😂 it's how I've felt this year.

No PCR results yet.

shouldistop · 26/12/2021 09:58

@Groovee that's rubbish Sad

We ended up having a lovely Christmas Day. I had a wee wobble upon realising that MIL had bought the kids more presents than we had and duplicated my main gift to ds1, it upset me a bit but he was happy and that's the main thing. Little bit of initial fighting between the cousins as usual then they settled down to play nicely.
Dh cooked an amazing dinner as usual, I slept in the spare room last night and he left me to sleep until 8.30 this morning - bliss. He's going to the pub with his cousins today and I'm trying to decide whether to take the kids to David Lloyd for a swim or just stay at home and have a lazy day.

Groovee · 26/12/2021 18:00

We have results in. 29 hours after PCR

Dh positive
Dd positive
Ds positive
DD's bf negative
Me negative

I'm still testing negative on the LFT and so is DD's bf.

ssd · 26/12/2021 19:44

That's good you escaped it so far then 🤞🤞

ssd · 26/12/2021 19:48

Hope the others don't feel too poorly.

ecceromani · 26/12/2021 20:29

I know the young ones will be fine but is DH feeling ok @Groovee ?
He's certainly had quite a yearXmas Hmm

Groovee · 26/12/2021 20:31

Everyone is symptomless. It's really strange. Dh is his usual nippy self.

ecceromani · 26/12/2021 20:42

Oh that's good news. Has he had his booster? Hopefully it's doing its job nicely Xmas Smile

ssd · 26/12/2021 21:06

I find it so odd how you can have covid but no symptoms

Does this mean you can have the flu but no symptoms?

Really weird

ElephantOfRisk · 26/12/2021 21:16

If you had a cold or flu with no symptoms, you would never know as we don't normally test perfectly healthy people. This is why we should be stopping testing. There are vaccines available, perfectly healthy people shouldn't be testing or isolating. It's utter madness.

Though I am aware that this is blethering so I should take my controversial views over to Tiers or Railing. consider my hand slapped! Xmas Grin

Sorry to hear lots of people had their plans disrupted. Our normal quiet Christmas was fine. Dh drunk too much and stayed up too late on Christmas day but to be fair he has still got up and also helped with boxing day dinner. As he has work in the morning he's had an alcohol free day today and an early night.

Also, DH bought me a lovely bag from John Lewis. I honestly wasn't spying, but I was browsing on JL as I have vouchers to spend. I noticed the bag was reduced and the one he bought has a gift receipt so I've bought another one with my voucher and thought I'd take the original one back to the store. So, I thought I'd been clever as although they'll give me a gift voucher, it means I am up on the deal even when I deduct the train fare for taking it back. I have form for taking stuff he's bought me back so I'm not telling him as he'll never notice. I was tempted to buy another very similar bag, also in the sale that was cheaper again but I thought that might be a cheeky step to far.

Anyway, what I've now just thought is, will they just give me the current value back as a voucher or the original cost as I might have just given myself an awful lot of running about for nothing?

Oh great thanks @shouldistop. Just thought I might have been a bit of an idiot Xmas Grin

Yes the original cost, thats what the gift receipt is for.
