Chinese Restaurant Central Edinburgh

Visiting Edinburgh in December with 3dc, wanted to do a Chinese restaurant on the Saturday night. Have obviously left it too late for Tattu.... any other good Chinese recommendations in central Edinburgh?

I know DH won't do a buffet restaurant so needs to be a table service one...

Rendezvous is well liked by my husband and his friends.

If you don't mind heading out a bit to Corstorphine (it's on the 31 bus route), the Chinese Manor House does delicious Chinese food in a very nice setting.

Karen's Unicorn gets good reviews but I've not tried it. Loon Fung is excellent and not too far from the centre. Tattu is all smoke and mirrors, food for the Instagram generation so you've had a lucky escape there plus it's really pricey for mediocre food.

Chinese Manor House is nice but I wouldn't take a bus out to there specifically for a meal if you are just up for a weekend. It's a trek.

I would pick Karen's Unicorn as it's just down from the centre.

I'd also echo that Tattu is very emperors new clothes. Beautiful surroundings, lovely loos and delicious- if extortionately priced - starters. Average and very pricey mains.
I've not been to Loon Fung for a number of years but it did used to be very good and the Rendezvous is a safe bet.

Kweilin also good.

Loon Fung, Cannonmills . not far from the centre of town and THE best chinese I've ever known - and that's been over 50 years now!

You said you would report back! How was your evening at Loon Fung? Just so interested as I don't live in Embra anymore but on every visit back home (3 x every year) it is a MUST on the (lengthy) priority list!

It's been ages since I've eaten at the Loon Fung.... Now have a hankering for it!!

Loon fung is out of this world! Definitely the best Chinese food I’ve had.
