Moving to Dunbartonshire

Hi all, we're a family of four (our two boys are 6 and 3) and we're looking at moving to Scotland from England. We're looking at Dunbartonshire and surrounding areas to be close to my mother in law who still in West Dumbarton.

I would love some advice please on where the best places for families to live are? Any good non religious primary school recommendations? Just any help and advice really would be so appreciated!

Thank you!

We really need to know your budget.

I am in East Dunbartonshire, fairly close to the border with West Dunbartonshire. Schools here are top notch but a 3 bed house in Bearsden/Milngavie is going to cost you £300k.

3 bed properties in Clydebank or Dumbarton are half that price.

Lomondgate in West Dunbartonshire is quite a nice bit to stay in. Parts of Balloch (Mollanbowie), parts of Bonhill (Strathleven). Dumbarton East is also nice.

Clydebank has the shopping centre. Old Kilpatrick is probably the nice area, Duntocher, Hardgate too maybe.

Bowling's not too bad although not much to do there.

Schools - Christie Park, Bonhill, Knoxland, Braehead, Goldenhill, Gavinburn are all quite good.

You could also look at Helensburgh area too. Or Gartocharn. Primary school is good although no train line.

I'm in knightswood which is very close and pretty family friendly with great amenities. If you have the budget bearsden isn't too far either x

What's your budget?

Bearsden and milngavie have the best schools but the housing is priced accordingly.
