Good places for a solo break to clear my head?

Any ideas? I've been to Aviemore, don't want to risk the Arran ferry in the winter. I'd really like a place with gorgeous cold walks and no kids.

Ullapool- The Arch Inn

Skye? Island without the ferry concerns.

Fort Augustus- beautiful walks there and quiet at this time of year. A couple of nice pubs too for eating in/ watching the world go by.

The Angus Glens?
Dunkeld?
I would go to Grantown on Spey, less touristy and busy than Aviemore (but with nice places to eat) and you can head over to the beaches in Moray too from there.

Gatehouse of Fleet in Dumfries and Galloway, or round there. Loads of lovely scenery and walks and you’re near the sea too.

For me it would need to be by the sea or big body of water. I'd be looking at a seaside village or somewhere on a Loch. No specific suggestions, but will be loads of nice wee places.

Has to be Orkney for me, or failing that the Outer Hebrides. Luskentyre beach is just bliss.

Ballater or Braemar. The Fife Arms Hotel in Braemar is supposed to be lovely, I've never stayed there but want to!
