Deli counter, pies etc.

I'm jealous!

ElephantOfRisk · 26/09/2021 13:47

I'm probably too late though, hope you got some nice things to eat.

ssd · 26/09/2021 16:46

I didn't get much, nice store though

Oo where is Booths I've only been in an English shop

ElephantOfRisk · 26/09/2021 16:49

Which one were you in?

ElephantOfRisk · 26/09/2021 16:51

I'm presuming @ssd was in the lakes or at least passed through Penrith which will be the nearest to us in Scotland. I prefer Keswick shop though it wasn't the same when down in the summer as a lot less baked goods on display as most pre packed now - 'cos Covid... Sad

Mrsjayy · 26/09/2021 16:52

Think it was Keswick ?

ssd · 26/09/2021 17:22

Near Ilkley

I got all excited then thinking there was a new one in Scotland.

KineticSand · 26/09/2021 17:28

Probably too late but going to leave this here in case anyone is interested in the future.

Booths do a vegetarian lasagne for 2 ready meal it's fantastic! It's mine and my mums treat tea, with a garlic baguette and salad. I don't even like any other veggie lasagne just Booths.

Mrsjayy · 26/09/2021 17:31

Aww still England last time I was this excited Stirling got Waitrose 😄 Booths is a lovely shop

BIoodyStupidJohnson · 26/09/2021 17:39

I really like Booths, I reckon one just outside Edinburgh would go absolute gangbusters and not just because I live in Edinburgh. Grin

ISpyCobraKai · 26/09/2021 17:58

When you say Edinburgh you clearly mean Glasgow right?Grin

ISpyCobraKai · 26/09/2021 17:59

@Mrsjayy our Waitrose shut down and is a Morrisons now.
I like Morrisons, but it's no Waitrose.

ElephantOfRisk · 26/09/2021 18:13

I had the veggie lasagne in the cafe once, it was lush and I'm not a vegetarian.

ssd · 26/09/2021 20:01

It was similar to waitrose but i think waitrose is better.

ElephantOfRisk · 26/09/2021 20:27

In non covid times my list goes:

Booths
M&S
Waitrose
Sainsburys......

then everyone else

Waitrose have a lot of things that sound and look delicious but end up being bland. Their quality is v good in general though and DH particularly likes their dark chocolate.

They do a pizza with prawns on it from one of their premium range things that is really really good.

ClerkMaxwell · 26/09/2021 21:30

Dont dare ask if they sell Morgan's Spiced Rum. The snooty assistant said to DH "No sir we don't sell that sort of thing here" DHs face was a picture and my eldest two were killing themselves laughing.

ISpyCobraKai · 26/09/2021 21:34

They'd hate me for asking for Fosters lager!Grin
I love good good food, but I'm a total ned when it comes to drinks.
