Hotel for kids in the Lothians

Has anyone any suggestions of children friendly hotel with good facilities/pool
in the Lothian's or even slightly further afield? Something akin to Coylumbridge in Aviemore. Will have an 18 month old. Google isn't helping me. Thanks!

I can't really think of an equivalent in that area. Crieff Hydro would be a good alternative or the Auchrannie on Arran. Plenty of nice hotels with pools but not many have the childcare/child focussed meal times/soft play etc.

Peebles Hydro?

Peebles hydro
Norton house

Unless it's changed, Norton house used to have restricted times children could use the pool.
Much more of an adult spa feel

Crieff hydro is lovely for kids, the food is the only downside for adults, fast food bar is good quality but the restaurant/cafe is on a par with a tourist attraction that doesn't have to compete, and similar prices.

Mind you, I went last summer and that perhaps wasn't the best draw, shortly after it reopened. My kids loved all the activities though, really loved it. Rooms were nice too.

Horses and the fort though are extra.

Crieff hydro is lovely but really expensive at the moment and you get one pool visit per stay even if you go for a week! Their big country childcare starts from a bit older as well.

apart from when DC were tiny, we tended to go self catering at Crieff as I was never very impressed with their restaurant either. The childcare was always fantastic and they even took in 8 week old ebf Ds2 along with his 15 month old brother to let us have dinner by ourselves. I hadn't booked DS2 in but they asked if they could have him when we turned up and I couldn't say no Grin. they promised to call if he needed fed but we were only away just over an hour and he was fine. That visit we got an enormous room as needed 2 cots. we had one in the turret bit and had a double and two single beds, a sitting area, two cots and it was still big enough to wheel the pram about.

We said we'd self cater next time as there are nice restaurants and cafes in crieff itself and the amazing MacRosty park, which is the best play park I've been to with great sand, climbing and trampolines.
