Hotel with buffet breakfast

Does anyone know of any hotels in the central belt that are doing a buffet breakfast rather than serving it to the table? I’m not sure if restrictions allow it yet…

I doubt it!

Mrsjayy · 16/09/2021 13:01

Why don't you search where you want to go. Premier inns and the like are back to buffet breakfasts.

Fluffypastelslippers · 16/09/2021 13:05

I think you need to narrow down the area to get any remotely useful answers here. The central belt is HUGE

Mrsjayy · 16/09/2021 13:09

Yes you really need to narrow it down, restrictions for table service ave been lifted but each place might have their own restrictions in place.

The Stirling Highland

I've been to beefeater and brewer's fayre restaurants attached to premier Inn hotels and its buffet in the sense of you order and its brought to you. At the brewer's fayre restaurant the cereals and juices etc were self serve though

Been in a few hotels recently, all with buffet breakfasts. Be aware that some ask you to book a timeslot.

Fluffypastelslippers · 16/09/2021 14:52

Also, if your hotel is not busy be prepared for them to make the switch from buffet to order at table. Premier Inn do this regularly depending on numbers. If the buffet is more important than locations etc you could just go to a carvery or similar who specialise in buffet food.

sartorius · 16/09/2021 15:14

I've been in few hotels over the summer and only one that's had buffet was an Ibis couple weeks ago (not central belt though).
Every table got their own set of tongs to use to serve themselves and hang on to in case wanted seconds.
Reminded me of JLs tatie spoon at ChristmasGrin

As pp said if it's a deal breaker for you I'd ring hotel and check

Sturmundcalm · 17/09/2021 07:05

Premier Inns switched to buffet breakfast about 4 weeks ago I think? Holiday Inns normally do it but depends if you're looking for something nicer...

singtanana · 18/09/2021 12:02

Thanks all, I’ll have a look at The Stirling Highland. I’m not fussy on location, I was hoping someone might have been somewhere recently and had a lovely buffet breakfast and could recommend. I’ll make a few calls. Thanks for posting.

Ime Hilton hotels do the best buffet breakfast but no idea who is currently doing them. Can't beat a great buffet breakfast. Hope you find somewhere OP.

Stayed at the Stirling Highland hotel in August. It wasn't buffet. You got a little card to tick what you wanted and they brought it plated to your table. Crossiants and toast were self serve though.

We stayed end August and it was full buffet.

It really will vary for each hotel depending on how busy they are. Nobody is putting out a full buffet for a few covers. They will do table service instead and it's a much more cost and time effective way to serve a few people.

So while one poster has had a full breakfast on X date in Y hotel, the next day Y hotel may only have 4 residents so it won't be a buffet.
