How long for Covid test results?

Just that really - DC tested yesterday morning first thing, and now we are all under house arrest until we hear. What are your current experiences?

Last week we were
Tested at 8pm, came back at 2pm next afternoon
Tested at 10am, came back at 2pm next day too.

Usually next day but some delays this week probably due to volume of testing, couple of DD's friends waited 50 hours.

Edinburgh and got both PCR tests this week just under 24 hrs. But friends have been waiting longer as so much testing going on at the minute.

Edinburgh we waited nearly 48 hours this week.

Glasgow, first one we all got results within 24 hours (early last week) retested later in week and took about 30 hours.

Edinburgh - test at 5pm Friday and results at 7am Sunday

Result took 30 hours, so not too bad and negative. But other DC now has symptoms, so back to test centre later today and back to isolation

50 hours from the time I did the test to result. Another 24 on top of that if you count the time it took to come in the post

Drive through test took 8 hours for DD

We both live in the same area but I don't drive so couldn't get there in person

Test yesterday 12 noon, results back 11.11pm last night. Apparently the infection rates are down so the test results are usually coming back within 24 hrs.

Anyone got any recent experience with test results times in Scotland? Got 7 year old tested this evening at 7pm. Fairly sure just a cold! Hoping he and his brother can get to school tomorrow (and I can get to my hairdresser appointment ).

I tested yesterday at 10am and got my results at midnight

@tigger1001 that’s good to know. Might get them in time for the morning then. Have my fingers crossed!

I’ve been tested twice this week - Ayrshire - and got result back in about 12 hours.

Tested in Glasgow this week at 8.30a., got results at 7am next day.

Still nothing back (15 hours so far) so have both kids at home and no hairdresser for me :-( just glad it’s not a working day for me. I didn’t realise the rules were so different in England and Scotland with regard to isolating while awaiting test results!

My DC got tested at 3pm yesterday, negative result back at 9,05 this morning.
