I'm English but hope it's ok to post on here.

We've just come back from 4 days holiday in the Scottish Borders and had a brilliant time. We love going to visit old buildings and so went to quite a few. Everyone was so kind and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Even the weather was fabulous. It was forecast rain from Tuesday to Thursday and it did rain a bit, but every time we got out of the car, the sun came out. It was uncanny.

I'm sat here now thinking about our time there with a big smile on my face. So thank you Scotland for making our first break away so wonderful. 🥰

You're welcome.
You'll find several people on here who had an equally enjoyable time in England Smile.

@moonbedazzled it so nice to see your comments.
I can reciprocate and say I’m Scottish but we had a brilliant road trip round many English University cities last week and everyone we met and everywhere we went we were made extremely welcome. It was fab

The past 18 months have been awful and mumsnet can be such a dour inhospitable place so all your comments have made me so happy. 🙂

And @motherstongue, I'm so glad you enjoyed England as much as I enjoyed Scotland. We're so lucky to live in such beautiful countries. And I include Wales and N Ireland in that as well.

Oh dear, I'm so full of love today, its a bit sickly really. Haha. But I can't help it.

Please pass my thanks to Yorkshire for 10 days of (mostly) sun, scenery, micro breweries, beer gardens, farm shops and funny, warm people.

That's lovely. We had a great fortnight travelling about England earlier in the summer.

It’s great to see a happy positive post. Glad that you enjoyed Scotland. Looking forward to my northern England holiday in the autumn
