Hi, can anyone tell me where I can find private school league tables for Scotland so I can make comparisons? I did find one list but it didn't include all private schools? Can anyone help?

I'm not aware of official one but I think Scotsman and Herald compile each year.
Each school should have their results published on their website.

But he very careful as it's much more difficult to compare private school results than state schools.
Pupils apply to the school, they assess them and then decide whether or not to offer a place. Some schools are much more academically selective than others and therefore you would expect their results to be better.

Don't know where you are but I'm in Edinburgh. Most of the private schools here are pretty much of a muchness. In most of the schools approx a third of the year get 5As in 5th year. Some years one school is slightly ahead, the next year it will be another school. However some are known to be more academically selective than others eg Heriots.

We chose a school that wasn't particularly selective because we liked the ethos of valuing children of different abilities and we felt it would be more diverse. In fact, it still has a third of year getting 5As and 98% of leavers go straight to university.

Sorry that's a bit of an essay but suppose what I'm saying is there is actually very little difference so would go with ethos of the school and what feels best fit for your child. If you are able to visit ( not sure if they're allowing at moment) you'll get much better feel and you'll know when you've found it.

I agree with the above. Variations between schools seem to depend on the ability of individual cohorts rather than some intrinsic qualities of the school. Glasgow here. I'm talking about Glasgow day schools rather than boarding.

There won’t be a complete list as some schools (boarding) follow the English curriculum, I think St. Leonard’s in St. Andrews does the IB whilst the day schools follow the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence
