Lenzie Academy and bullying

I recently posted asking for opinions on Bishopbriggs Academy. We are also considering Lenzie so can I get any opinions on the school? I know it's really good academically but I have heard a lot of rumours that bullying is a real problem. Thank you!

Who are you hearing these rumours from? Every school has issues with bullying and any which says there is no bullying in their school is lying. But most schools have improved how they deal with it enormously. I live in the same rough area and haven't heard that Lenzie is any worse, or any better, than any other school.

Hi, people who live locally. I have heard bullying is not dealt with properly. Although I realise this could be false information... So I am hoping to hear from parents whose kids go there.

I think you get bullying in all secondary schools, even the 'good ones '
Key is to let your child know they don't have to put up with it,and what they should do if it happens to them

I also think you'd get more specific answers on a local FB group or something. Scotsnet has posters all over the country. However those sorts of FB posts can often cause a bit of a stooshie...

Will be relocating to robroyston and daughter going into s4. What high school is best? I've heard bishopbriggs academy is really good but its not in catchment. Is it hard to get in with placing request

katherine128li · 11/06/2023 08:16

Hi is there a school bus fr Lenzie academy to Robroyston?

user1487194234 · 11/06/2023 08:17

i think it is very difficult to get a placement request from Robroyston which is in Glasgow into any of the East Dumbarton schools
Also you should start a ne thread which will get you more responses

Thx

@katherine128li this is the catchment area map for Glasgow.

It looks like your catchment secondary is Smithycroft. Agree with others that from Glasgow city council area you have little to no chance of getting a placing request into a school in East Dunbartonshire as the schools are full and very popular.

If you’re interested in Lenzie Academy you should be made aware that they are planning to rebuild.
I’ve heard various rumours, like they will build a temp building on the rugby club or out at woodilee village, while the school is torn down and rebuilt.
No planning applications have been made as far as I am aware, but if your children are entering s1 now, it might affect them s5 or S6.
or East D could kick it in to the long grass and it won’t be in the next ten years: who knows!

Lenzie is the worst cause we can't even goto the toilet safely and the deputy head does nothing if someone is injured

Hello ,
I want to ask about Lenzi Academy I know it is good in academic but I want to ask about the teachers Headteacher and all staff are they caring with students and and deal well with problems or any situation because sometimes the teachers and staff they are the problem and they are the bullying.
