I'm just looking to find out if anyone has any insider knowledge. I haven't seen any posts advertised on My Job Scotland. Are they listed somewhere else or are there just none at all this year?

Thanks

Some councils wait for probationers to be placed and their place accepted before advertising but there does seem to be far less jobs going this year.

I'm in Stirling , am I right in thinking you are primary?

StarryEyeSurprise · 16/05/2021 21:33

Yes, primary Lidl.

Thanks Goodbye. I did hear horror stories of probationers not even getting five full days a week last year ( Highland) .

Recruitment has stalled a bit due to the circumstances but previously Stirling recruited annually to Supply/Permanent Supply lists.

Once on a permanent supply contract a "learning community" basically the feeder primaries for one secondary is allocated. So you are working within a small cluster of schools. With a view to you then after a year if this being allocated a school, then after 2 years you can claim permanence to that school and not face having to move on. Outwith annual campaigns individual vacancies did pop up in MJS .

It's not really been like that recently as movement between schools was restricted.

Thanks Lidl. I'll keep looking on MJS. I do have a permanent teaching job but looking to move councils.

I know Edinburgh has a surplus of 34 teachers to redeploy due to removing nursery teachers.
