Thanks to everyone who posted on my previous thread (www.mumsnet.com/Talk/scotsnet/4227425-Where-can-I-go-on-holiday-in-Scotland?pg=3)

DH has decided he wants to go to Dumfries and Galloway - ideally not far from the coast - so far found cottage / self-catering places in Kircudbright, Gatehouse of Fleet, Creetown Garlieston, and Isle of Whithorn.

Which would you choose and why?

It works if you select, copy & paste it!

Don't know Kircudbright or Gatehouse of Fleet

Of the others I would choose Creetown even if it is not as pretty because of location and availability of shops/restaurants here and in Newton Stewart. You can easily visit Garlieston and Isle of Whithorn from Creetown. Plus near the Galloway forest and Wigton.

We spent a week in D&G last September and regretted where we stayed as it was too remote/quiet.
