Does anyone have a relative in a nursing home in Scotland and are still not getting a 2nd visitor?
My mum is in a nursing home of a large Care Group. When the government said that 2nd visitors could get in the whole care group decided to be more cautious and say only the 1 for now.
Now, last week they have sent a generic email to say that they are opening to 2 visitors from 2 households and offering hand holding.
But the home my mum is in still says no. (And it took 6 days to even get through to them - a different issue I'm having with them)
My dad can get a socially distanced visit out in the porch (my mum through the open doors in the hallway) but no sitting with her and no handholding. Her illness means she doesn't manage this well. And I am still not allowed anything at all, not even a window visit! And to be honest they were quite rude about it today- I have been nothing but polite and patient.
I keep getting really excited when the government loosen the regulations and then disappointed when it doesn't happen. Then again, excited when the Care Group say it can open up, but again I'm told no. It is very frustrating.
Is everyone getting in as the govt guidelines suggest?
