Glasgow litter

It's getting me down, there is so much. Every little patch of greenery filled with dog poo bags, empty bottles and cans, crisp packets. Its so depressing. Never experienced such a systemic litter problem in other parts of the country.

This morning I took my toddler to the park to find bottles of vodka, cider and MD on the equipment, not empty, some without lids, plus glasses with alcohol in them (to add to the general background litter in and around the park).

Why is it so bad in Glasgow? How can it be changed? Bins and litter picking can only take us so far, this needs a wholesale change in attitudes from a young age, but how?

Sorry for the rant, but this morning left me feeling upset and angry and wishing that I didn't live here any more.

That's was probably due to the numpties watching the old firm football match yesterday. Is it generally as bad as that?

I know my brother has to regularly pick up bottles and other rubbish near his flat in Glasgow too

Yes, I suppose it could have been, didn't think of that. It's the first time I've seen something that bad, but litter is just everywhere all the time. This morning I also spotted a beer bottle which has been pushed into my hedge aswell, so clearly not a good day for me and litter!

I think it's exacerbated by the fact that people can't go inside anywhere at the moment either.

Yes, definitely made worse by lockdown, but it was something I noticed pre covid. Here's hoping for some improvement in future.

It's awful, isn't it. Really noticeable around the edges of the city.
