@kurtrussellsbeard

Yes if being spot on means that you focus on something that happened in October when there was an important development that happened in December that largely made October's email irrelevant.
It's not up to NS to direct the questioning. So JB was spot on. NS should have answered the question asked instead of trying to deflect.
Amortentia · 03/03/2021 15:59

@Graffitiqueen
Good for him. I couldn't do it, think I'd be sinking under the desk without a constant supply of tea & snacks. 😂

WaxOnFeckOff · 03/03/2021 15:59
@WaxOnFeckOff I genuinely didn't realise that? What else could they have done?
They could have passed complaints to police, followed mediation, taken action as a party since he was a member just as a starter. I think that's a discussion that would have happened (or not?) when it was advised that the route they were heading down was unlikely to be successful.

Obviously not party to any of that but it just doesn't appear to be a binary choice.

kurtrussellsbeard · 03/03/2021 16:01

She didn't direct the questioning. She answered the question. JB didn't like and made a snarky, and incorrect, comment.

@Amortentia

To be fair to the Fm, if I'd been questioned for 7 hours I'd be waffling too. I'd defy any one to do better.
She was waffling from the off!

Well Salmond did.

Salmond isn’t currently FM and hasn’t been dealing with a pandemic for the past year.

StarryEyeSurprise · 03/03/2021 16:04

Just like she was incorrect earlier and misquoted the FM during FMQs. 🙈

kurtrussellsbeard · 03/03/2021 16:04

AS seems like he would absolutely love to be grilled for seven hours straight. I think he thrives on that kind of thing.

After one hour, maybe 45 minutes I'd be like look it's fine I resign I can't take this.

daisyfraser · 03/03/2021 16:05

What are the 'legal reasons' she keeps using to avoid answering?? We are in the middle of the enquiry. Why are some matters protected??

daisyfraser · 03/03/2021 16:06

She just has utter contempt for the committee and the people of Scotland.
Very sad so many Scots believe in her and back her

Me too. I can hardly recall the names of my own children sometimes, I'd stand no chance under questioning. 😂

I'm not sure but I think it's that some of the people involved are also the complainants so she doesn't want to name them?

Her answer was totally evasive!! JB was absolutely spot on.
PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 03/03/2021 16:09

I think you're right WaxOn. But it's really unhelpful that they won't name them in their actual jobs, when it's irrelevant to the complaints — I think that's far more likely to be identifiable!

We must be talking about a different question @Graffitiqueen. Will they publish a transcript ?

happygolurkey · 03/03/2021 16:10

I'm not Scottish so don't have avery clear view of Salmond/Sturgeon
However I think Sturgeons version of events (massive cock up) is more likely to be true than Salmonds (conspiracy against me).

I agree with you QuentinWinters.

It's not just complainants having their names withheld, junior civil servants can't be named either. only senior CS are named if absolutely necessary.
WouldBeGood · 03/03/2021 16:12

I think the important thing to do is to concentrate on the evidence. Weigh it up.

Whichever way you’re minded, this is a murky mess that’s not reflecting well on Scotland.

daisyfraser · 03/03/2021 16:12

How many subjects can she cover in the one response?
Many people confuse this ability she has to talk without taking breath aabout nothing with her being competent.

Agree. I genuinely don't know any of the names of those who made the allegations or which letter of the alphabet they have been assigned so for me it just makes it confusing. If you have your name kept secret for one thing it doesn't mean that no-one can ever use your name again.
GirlLovesWorld · 03/03/2021 16:14

Alex Salmond bloody loved 7 hours of TV focused on him almost uninterrupted!

QuentinWinters · 03/03/2021 16:14

Thank you. I agree with kurtrussell too - if NS had done not much with the AS complaints and they were upheld, she'd be accused of covering up for her mate. She was in a very difficult position whichever action she took.

I disagree. This could have been pushed under the carpet. There could have been no committee. The fact you're watching this is a good thing. Although, there are some issues that do need fixed. I think the SG have tried to be above board and messed up.
ATieLikeRichardGere · 03/03/2021 16:15

She sounds like she’s going to cry.

daisyfraser · 03/03/2021 16:16

'lashing out' ???
Was she watching the same testimony we all were
