Edinburgh Steiner

We are moving to Edinburgh in August (CV permitting) I have had some great advice and help on another Scotsnet thread about the primary schooling options for our 2 DDs (6 and 9). Obviously we can't visit any of the schools - we are abroad at the moment , and well - covid :(
I know Steiner's in general are contentious on here. But I would love to hear is anyone has any experience of Edinburgh Steiner School. We are exploring it a little for a number of reasons. Anyone have actual experience? Thank you!

I only have secondhand experience as we considered it too - we asked a friend whose dd went there when he visited Edinburgh and she liked it and had a good time but they were a bit put off by some of the weird religious woo and decided not for them long term. Hopefully this bump will give you someone with actual experience!

Ps, I have a friend who homeschooled when visiting Edinburgh for a term and she thought the home school network here was great (some of them are mumsnetters too), something else to mull over.

It's not impossible to arrange 'flexi schooling' where the dc do 2 or 3 days and you have school other days - probably a bit of a fight to get agreed upfront as the schools generally want you full time but can be arranged.

Ha just thought I'd mention as I've considered pretty much every option over the last two years and I went from Steiner to home school in the investigation.

@potterspotter and you ended up at St G's? Interesting. It does look lovely.

A friend of mine sends her daughter to the nursery and they love it, but I’m not sure if they are planning on using the school too.

might be worth a post about Steiner under education, you get different people checking different bits of mumsnet. Yes, over and above everything else, they seem to care about the children as individuals, I wasn't sure one of my DC would find a school that would suit her.
