Help!!! Can't find any info on Lugar/Logan Cumnock.

Hi., I'm thinking of moving to Lugar near cumnock but not sure on what it's like. I have young kids and it looks beautiful. We have been to see a few houses but it's not the best time to stop and chat to the locals. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Where do you live just now?

Seeingadistance we currently live in the borders but for various reasons need to move into that area.

Lugar is tiny (but you'll have realised that). I know a few people who live there. If you don't mind rural and small it's a nice place to be. No noticeable village centre or coffee shop I don't think, kids get the bus to school, even the small ones. But it's not far.
Logan is like a rough suburb of Cumnock, you don't want to be there. Sorry Logan.
Cumnock is fine. Run down, but trying. Dumfries Estate has had millions pumped into it by rich friends of Prince Charles and that's had a knock on effect on Cumnock and Auchinleck next door. Auchinleck Estate has also become quite posh with restaurant, coffee shop, gift shop. Massive new high school too, the biggest in Scotland I believe, bringing 2 local high schools and a couple of primary schools together on the same site. Its called the Robert Burns Campus or something but the pupils delightfully call it The Boaby. Its only been open since October (?) so not sure how it's working out. Early days, and of course now it's closed again before it really got a chance to get going.
Nice refurbished (thanks rich pals of Prince Charles) outdoor swimming pool nearby in New Cumnock, it's ace.
