NC?
That's Nicola Curgeon for those who aren't sure.... Blush

kurtrussellsbeard · 29/01/2021 16:29

How did his visit go? I haven't seen any reports because I've been so busy with work.

LetItGoGo · 29/01/2021 16:30

Did that happen?

rookiemere · 29/01/2021 16:35

Am I reading this right ? Is NS genuinely prepared to jeopardise our vaccine delivery to curry favour with the EU ? If this is true, I'm beyond upset. Does she want us to live like this forever ? Fine for her and her wee mates going into work every day and not even wearing masks FFS.

Sorry I'm not in a good place today. It's my non working day, so I should be happy but my lunchtime walk cancelled on me, and then another friend wouldn't come out because the weather is so rubbish- which it is to be fair. Hats off to those of you who live alone, although to be honest I would actually just like to be on my own for a while with no work or family.

Vaccines are our way out of this. She's deliberately sabotaging it for the sake of independence.

LetItGoGo · 29/01/2021 16:36

I'd take all the chat with a pinch of salt.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 29/01/2021 16:39

You know what, I'm not totally on top of the vaccine drama. I've shied away from it a bit because it seems to me that the daily mail press has its own narrative here: they are getting to paint the EU and NS as bad guys, while Westminster is the saviour and THANK GOD for Brexit right?

So I've got my doubts about the accuracy/impartiality of how it's being portrayed here, and I've not had time to look properly into it either.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 29/01/2021 16:40

Although I do wonder how the numbers of doses being published makes any odds, when the AZ contract has now been published. If we've a legal claim to X number by X date, what difference that information being published on the ScotGov website I don't quite get.

anon444877 · 29/01/2021 16:41

Yes dh is off hiking this weekend rookie but sadly no time alone watching outlander or bridgerton is looming as I can't get the kids to go hiking too!

The big garden birdwatch is likely to be this weekend's highlight.

Dinnafashyersel · 29/01/2021 16:44

rookie I couldn't persuade DD3 to brave the miserable weather either. You may just have persuaded me on the merits of a peaceful 5 minutes out and about on my own now the dinner is in the oven and she is making the most of her allotted gaming time. (I have to check in with my student DD who is living on her own. She is not regretting the choice of P&Q one bit over our stifling embrace - she does always have the choice though and plenty of "reasonable excuses" to be out and about. I was fantasising about my single person loft apartment where I can order my day purely around myself cheered on by my Peleton instructor of choice).

Lockdownbear · 29/01/2021 16:45

Rookie I actually think she should be done for treason if she leaks supply secrets to the EU.

Why would the EU want to become involved in it either?

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 29/01/2021 16:50

Treason?? Guys.

The grip shops must be closed down as they're non-essential.

LetItGoGo · 29/01/2021 16:50

Were we all stood up for a walk this afternoon!😄

Lockdownbear · 29/01/2021 16:56

Treason a crime against one country.
What else would you class giving away confidential information on vaccine supplying a country that is under lockdown that needs the vaccine to recover freedom?

kurtrussellsbeard · 29/01/2021 16:57

It didn't take long post brexit for the EU to become very othered. Ffs

Soon vague European stereotypes will replace the vague Muslim and Russian stereotypes in the Bond films. 🤣

kurtrussellsbeard · 29/01/2021 16:59

Okay well I also look forward to Boris being charged with treason. And Tony Blair. And David Cameron.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 29/01/2021 17:00

Look it's Friday and there's beer, am I fuck wasting hours away debating if NS is a fucking EU mole.

I look forward to your evidence at her trial though.

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 29/01/2021 17:02

DD has her options form to complete next week. Arguments already. The technical column is causing problems. DD does not want to do business management, computing or Admin. She wants to do either design and manufacturing or health and foot tech. Me and DH would prefer her to do something IT or business related.
She only wants to do one science which DF (ex science teacher) is not happy about. DF reckons DD is taking too many creative subjects (art, music, D&M) and universities would prefer sciences.
Bloody nightmare. Especially the technical column which I recall caused me lots of confusion and angst at that age too.

Lockdownbear · 29/01/2021 17:06

Yip and it would be equally as quick if Scotland separates from England.
It would be a very bitter divorce.

LetItGoGo · 29/01/2021 17:07

Oh options will be odd.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 29/01/2021 17:09

Some of the vaccine threads are kinda grim reading. Absolute crowing is very unattractive. I'm happy that we have vaccines but really, it makes no odds at all in terms of travel etc if other countries aren't vaccinating too.

Lockdownbear · 29/01/2021 17:12

At the moment we aren't even allowed to travel nationally I'd be happy if I could legally have my mum for coffee.

The UK hasn't always got it right but they did sort the vaccines. Let's not fuck this bit up.

LetItGoGo · 29/01/2021 17:13

Yes international travel sounded pretty irrelevant once I'd heard NS talk this week.

LetItGoGo · 29/01/2021 17:15

I'm aiming for a garden visit with family in April / may. It's a long drive so it's just not worth it til the days get longer.

rookiemere · 29/01/2021 17:15

@Iwillneverbesatisfied - is that options for Nat 5s or Highers ?

I have to say as a DC of a doctor and chemistry lecturer I was pushed into doing all 3 sciences for O level and I've never used them in my life. Therefore I was very keen to ensure that DS picked the subjects he wanted to do, rather than the ones we thought would be useful. Ultimately I figure he's going to get higher grades in the stuff he's interested in.

Although he announced today - age 14 - that he isn't cut out to work 9-5 and is planning to become a day trader, entrepreneur or property magnet Wink. Elon Musk has a lot to answer for.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 29/01/2021 17:17

I'm with him Rookie, sitting in my kitchen working and I was so bored I opened a beer at ten to 4....
