Anyone work for a Scottish solicitors? How much of a backlog round death stuff do you have?

Only just received the tax forms from my mums solicitor and she died in June. Small estate valued at 100k, inc small property and savings. Property to be transferred to siblings and I. So surely not complicated? She’d organised everything but we’re still only at this stage 🤷‍♀️ Is this covid normal or are the solicitors taking the piss?

Assuming you mean you’ve just received the C1 form to sign that does seem a little longer than normal but it could just have been one company holding it up. I’ve been waiting on a response from one insurance company for 3 months and have chased and telephoned 4 times.

I did all the chasing of companies as executor, so they’ve had the balances/ paperwork since October.

It’s hard to know what is reasonable - I know everything is more difficult but in normal times I’d be chasing the solicitor more.
