Dyslexic son secondary advice

Hi my son is 9, diagnosed with severe dyslexia two years ago. At local primary school now but I’m starting to worry about available support at secondary and if there are any schools within Glasgow that have good support units for those with additional needs? Thanks in advance for any info. If anyone knows of any support groups for parents/carers I’d love to hear about those too. Feeling a bit out of the loop in terms of how to best help him.

If you haven't already looked, dyslexia scotland would be a good starting point - they have a magazine and talks sometimes, and can provide a list of tutors if you decide you need one.
All schools should provide adequate support though, you shouldn't really have to move him away from his friends to achieve this.

Thank you, I’ve already managed to get a tutor for him via DS. I know certain secondary schools I. Glasgow have well regarded units for ASD and wondered if this includes dyslexia. I might just do some digging.... thanks again

Not my part of the country - might be worth posting for general info on the schools you are thinking of? (Put the schools in your title!) But yes you will be looking for one with good support rather than just high exam results. (Not that your ds won't achieve that, but will need the proper support to get there)
