Frankie Boyle’s accent?

Do you hear the difference? Has he got new teeth or something? Half the time it goes all lispy and doing that mad over emphasis of “L” sounds that some posh Glaswegians do. He always used to have a pure glasgow central inner circle accent before.

He’s probably been told to posh it up

Frankie Boyle blocked my DH on Twitter. I have pondered just what can be said that would offend Frankie Boyle Grin

Mrsjayy · 02/01/2021 10:52

Oh what did you say to get Frankie Boyle blocked ? He was an English teacher wasn't he so would speak well so probably gutters it down sometimes rather than poshing it up !

WaxOnFeckOff · 02/01/2021 10:56

Frankie has gone very PC in order to get BBC work. I think everything (apparently) offends him now.

Mrsjayy · 02/01/2021 10:57

Yes he is an offended middle aged man these days .

RaspberryCoulis · 02/01/2021 11:29

He's a horrible little man.

WouldBeGood · 02/01/2021 12:00

@Lidlfix 😂

Sakesman · 02/01/2021 12:11

“WaxOnFeckOff” Lol!!!! Exactly! So succint. Think I’ve been distracted by the accent when my discomfort was that I actually preferred when he was a total dick with construction site level bullying humour rather than this... I don’t know what he is.

I’ve noticed the same lately. It’s so weird, very clearly annunciation hog every sound. It’s a shame because I loved his accent before.

Pineconelights · 02/01/2021 12:28

He's a hypocrite. He's not funny but maybe the fake accent will be.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 02/01/2021 13:21

I’m really ambivalent about frankie I think he’s provocative for sake of it,to get an inevitable nervous laugh from audience
He’s like the school radge who always shouted out mental stuff in registration, and you were always a bit whit the fuck?! But too scared to say anything in case they lamped you

Don’t think he’s funny, wasn’t aware he’d affected a beers-den accent these days. Expect he’s done it for the money and to get a gig at the guardian

ssd · 02/01/2021 18:10

Dh noticed this as well. Tbh his slow way of talking annoys me so any accent does my head in. We seen him in concert and he was better there. I find his show cringy and shite the now., he always has right on women on who annoy me.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 02/01/2021 18:15

I fucking hate Frankie Boyle. Bought an ex tickets to see his years ago and I sat there absolutely disguted the whole way through. Didnt find him funny at all. Spent the whole 4y minute show taking the piss out of vulnerable people, and a child that had been murdered bot that long before.
I certainly don't have a pole up my arse but I really really judge people who find him funny.

RaspberryCoulis · 02/01/2021 18:20

I used to see him hanging out in the lounge area at the David Lloyd club at Anniesland.

Very "man of the people", Frankie.

titsbumfannythelot · 02/01/2021 18:35

He's got a bit of a put on G12 accent doesn't he.

I used to like him, I'd rather watch paint dry now though

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 02/01/2021 18:47

Haha put on G12 accent yes there is a specific west end accent with many affectations

Mrsjayy · 02/01/2021 19:00

Oh I've a cousin who used to stay in the west end met him at a funeral and was Hmm at his accent we don't come from Glasgow!

titsbumfannythelot · 02/01/2021 19:04

It's a bit like the wummin in two doors down, in my view.
