Covid results - delays?

Last time someone in the house had to get a covid test we got the results back really early the next morning, and everyone I know has been the same. DH and DS went yesterday afternoon and still no answer...

I know that officially we can't do anything to chase it till tomorrow afternoon but just wondered if anyone knew if there are delays? Noticed the comment in the news yesterday about delayed results for GGC and one of the other health boards.

I got a test this morning at 1030 at a drive through centre. Guy told me 48 hours for a result due to a backlog and how busy they are.

That's great news for you, what a relief.

hope you get good news ASAP as well! was slightly uptight at the thought of losing our last few days of freedom having to SI...

I took the home test on Thursday and had to phone up because I didn't realise you had to register the royal mail barcode (I'd already dropped it off!). Anyway on the phone the lady told me they had a huge demand right now and not to expect results before Christmas eve.
We got them this morning (so 4-5 days from posting).
