Relocating London to Burntisland Aberdour or Kinghorn?

HI there,
I'm a solo mum to a 2.5 year old and currently in London, but my parents are in Burntisland. We love visiting them there, and am finding that financially London life is not sustainable for me. I'm wondering if there are any parents in Aberdour, Kinghorn or Burntisland who could help me get an idea of the community there for families? I've been in London 12 years, have a fantastic social life here so am a bit anxious about making the move. But I know the quality of life would be so much better for me and my son. I just don't get much of a 'sense' of how easy it might be to meet people in these areas, any advice or tips about it would be really appreciated. Are these places where it’s easy to meet people ? What is it like as a place to live? What are the schools like ? Clubs, activities, eating out?

Any advice welcomed!

I don't live in any of those villages but am fairly nearby. They're all areas popular with families and I wouldn't think you'd have any problem meeting people through the various toddler activities, school nursery etc.. Although that's all limited at the moment due to COVID. Good luck with your move.

Hello

I am nearby. All three are good, my observations would be that Aberdour is small, good community, nice wee primary school. Lovely beaches, which means it gets mad busy in the summer.

Don’t know much about a Kinghorn sorry.

Burntisland would be my pick, it’s going through a real upturn at the moment, the high street has some really good wee independent shops now and there’s just a nice vibe. The only downside is that you get the funfair on the links all summer normally, but I guess that’s only a big issue if you are in one of the houses overlooking the links.

The other important thing to bear in mind is high school catchment. Aberdour feeds into Inverkeithing, Burntisland and Kinghorn to Balwearie in Kirkcaldy.
