Radio Scotland stealing our stories!

Radio Scotland today will be talking about the parent who won't get their kid a dog. Virtually quoted the thread title. I've noticed this a few times. It doesn't bother me particularly, I just think it's a bit weird how obvious they are about it. There was one a few weeks ago about a wedding where they basically read out the original post on air. I feel like they should at least say "We haven't actually done any work here, we've just lifted this story from mumsnet, but let's discuss it anyway".

Happens all the time now, it puts me off from posting to be honest!

They are so blatant about it! I've never really heard stories used so obviously before. I am very naive.

I noticed that too! Was going to text in to the programme but they never would have read it out. I briefly looked for the thread again, to post about it, but couldn't find it.

I've noticed Jeremy Vine and Lisa Tarbuck on radio 2 also do it!

it's probably what their researchers do, use chat sites with popular threads to gauge interesting talk topics.

Jeremy Vine definitely did it last week. Daily Mail are at it all the time.
Just don’t put anything immediately identifying.

My thread ended up on Loose Women one day a few years ago!

I remember that Wax. It was a funny (maybe not for you) story. Grin

Thankfully never repeated @lidlfix
