Can kids hug everyone or just other kids?

I haven't a bloody clue. Have they to stop social distancing from everyone or just other kids? My mum is desperate for cuddles. Unfortunately only one of my kids is under 11 so he'll be getting the full force of her affection, assuming it's allowed.

Everyone. If you go onto BBC news and click the link on Scotland about the social distancing changing for children it explains it a bit better.

Adults and children, but same rules re no more than 8 in a group and no more than two other households at a time.

Thanks. I got a bit confused because NS kept going on about kids being able to play more normally with their friends but didn't seem to mention cuddling your granny.

Are you on Twitter? She's now tweeted saying yes you can hug your granny/grandad if under 11.

But not if other adult is shielding.

Yup. Under 12 don't need to distance from anyone unless that person is shielding. So hugs with grannies allowed :)

Yes it's weird that it wasn't underlined. She spoke about children playing together but I didn't hear mention of being able to hug grandparents. (Although I didn't listen to the briefing in full). I would have thought that would have been the big headline.
