but selfish people are selfish corona or no corona, some of them are the same people that send their kids to school or go to work with D&V or any other bug or generally are inconsiderate

But that said it is also the fault of schools that make you feel bad for keeping your kid at home ( threaten with social work or attendance officer) and workplaces that threaten with job loss if you are not there so you have no choice but to go to work sick or send your child to school sick so you can go to work to keep a roof over child's head
Hopefully more realistic sick policies will be a silver lining while still having room to stop the people you convienently get colds or coughs on Fridays/ Mondays and no-one will ever be able to say you are ruining your kids education by taking them out of school for a day for a relatives wedding or funeral

WaxOnFeckOff · 09/06/2020 20:34

but tits aren't you supposed to be having the time of your life? Hmm

With your immaculate house, home baking, lovely gardening and crafting...Grin

A job share would be good, I'm hacked off working and you sound like you'd welcome some - we are never happy eh?

dementedma · 09/06/2020 20:38

I am send the full media briefings each day from all media outlets (for my job). there is a growing wave of resentment towards NS continued hard line lockdown and threats, across all the papers.
The whitewashing (lies) about the number of people released into care homes without testing , has not gone unnoticed and while I think she (NS) initially handled the situation as well as anyone in these new circumstances, that is beginning to slip.
Many of my team are reporting mental health issues, anxiety, depression, isolation etc. Trying to work from home while home schooling is impossible. We are all sick of fucking ZOOM!
So, my team meeting this Friday will be outside, socially distanced picnic. Bring your own food and hand sanitiser, no sharing. I cant tell you the excitement this has generated. We will all be travelling more than 5 miles to do this. So shoot us, Nicola.

titsbumfannythelot · 09/06/2020 20:43

I hope you all have a lovely time @dementedma

It's comforting to know that other people are getting frustrated with the whole situation.

Mascotte · 09/06/2020 20:45

I was thinking that too @titsbumfannythelot.

Thanks @dementedma

dementedma · 09/06/2020 20:59

I was expecting a pile on lol. I think it will go a long away to lifting morale, and we will follow all common sense rules

Sweetpotatoaddict · 09/06/2020 21:07

@dementedma sounds like a good plan. Much needed as well. I think NS has lost touch of the damage this continued prolonged lockdown is doing.

Tomorrowisanewday · 09/06/2020 21:09

I can't help think the "early signs" was just released to deflect from the Nike fiasco, testing not being in place, care homes fiasco and schooling proposals.

I hate how cynical this whole situation is making me Sad.

WaxOnFeckOff · 09/06/2020 21:15

It really makes me wonder who the "guidelines" are for. Those who are unable to risk assess just do what they want regardless and those that are able to risk assess could be happily working some pretty safe middle ground between what the "guidelines" say and what the reckless do. Confused

Have a great time demented

rookiemere · 09/06/2020 21:37

A work colleague who attended a conference on the same day and place as the Nike conference came down with a flu like illness 5 days after the event. Our office was one of the first shut down due to another colleague who tested coronavirus positive.

But yet according to this article https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-52980891 the strain from the Nike conference wasn't the one that caused the spread. Seems mighty convenient Hmm if that were the case.

Noworrieshere · 09/06/2020 21:39

there is a growing wave of resentment towards NS continued hard line lockdown

I'd say this is absolutely true among the people I am speaking to. Particularly parents who are increasingly angry about part-time school in August.

I wonder if in the next few weeks there will be a reduction to the WHO recommendation of 1m distancing, weight given to the asymptomatic carriers not transmitting argument, and suddenly schools will go back full time in August and we will all be encouraged to think NS and the SNP are the greatest thing ever because they achieved this miraculous result in such a short time.

titsbumfannythelot · 09/06/2020 21:42

I have been thinking the same @Noworrieshere because of the elections next May. Christ I am so cynical just now

Noworrieshere · 09/06/2020 21:43

Or maybe that's just desperation and wishful thinking

Sweetpotatoaddict · 09/06/2020 21:55

The interesting thing about the Nike conference is that today they said that trail died out at the end of March as though that is something to be proud of and excuses the cover up. Despite the fact that outbreak clearly ran for over one month.
The Nike conference, the care home deaths and hospital transmission all comes back to a lack of preparation for this pandemic.

Tomorrowisanewday · 09/06/2020 22:00

Scottish Government had a report 2 years ago advising how badly prepared we were for a pandemic. None of the recommendations implemented

Tomorrowisanewday · 09/06/2020 22:01

They spent an awful long time out of today's briefing explaining the life of the viruses

SockYarn · 09/06/2020 22:33

They spent an awful long time out of today's briefing explaining the life of the viruses

And conveniently covering their own arses over the Nike fiasco.

Tomorrowisanewday · 09/06/2020 22:36

Exactly - was a different version, so it didn't matter that we didn't tell people who'd been exposed to it!

titsbumfannythelot · 09/06/2020 22:42

I smell shite

Mascotte · 09/06/2020 22:43

There's definitely a change of tone on social media about schools.

SudokuBook · 10/06/2020 01:04

And conveniently covering their own arses over the Nike fiasco

Exactly this

MumofHunter · 10/06/2020 11:59

HPS were informed of a Scottish person testing positive from Covid on the 3rd and Scottish Gov released a press release saying the same a day later!

titsbumfannythelot · 10/06/2020 12:12

NRS statistics are out, deaths from COVID have fallen for the 6th consecutive week and now constitute 8% of deaths registered in Scotland last week.

MumofHunter · 10/06/2020 12:29

Fantastic. Care home deaths also very much down.

Sweetpotatoaddict · 10/06/2020 12:56

Good news about the death rates falling, new cases are tailing off also. I’m very confused by the test and protect numbers they are quoting. Saying 681 positive tests between 28/05 and now, hps spreadsheet shows much lower number for new cases between those dates. Are they contact tracing people who are on their second or third positive test?
