Yes, our local hospital is now a dedicated respiratory hospital. All general inpatients will go to another hospital about 8 miLes away.

In some areas of course they don’t have this options as there’s only one large hospital, so they have dedicated areas within it, using separate entrances and corridors.

The NHS staff are really doing everything they possible can. Not it’s not perfect or ideaL and there’s a shortage of PPE. But everyone needs to rally around.

In many parts of Scotland, companies that use PPE at work are raiding their stores and handing it all in to the NHS.

Love the community effort in Ballachulish, we need more of that within cities!

If only their was a large general purpose hospital in Edinburgh fitted out and ready to go.

Oh wait there should have been

Crimples · 28/03/2020 09:55

@cdtaylornats yeah that’s true.
I wonder if they’ll overlook whatever problems they’ve had with the new sick kids building now and use that.

My sister lives in Manchester and her gp referred her to one of these on Wednesday.
They advised her to go to hospital.
Should imagine lots of health care trusts will be doing the same.

They say they can’t use the new children’s hospital in Edinburgh because of problems with the ventilation system ☹️

cdtaylornats · 30/03/2020 20:03

Most don't need ventilation though
