Any advice?

Probably between Kirkland park and Wester Overton?

My dd goes to Wester Overton and have been pealed with things so far. To be honest I've really only heard good things about both primary schools in the town.

I agree, they are both good schools, nothing to choose between them . Just send your child to your catchment one.

Thanks.

We are considering moving to the Colinhill grange development and I believe Kirkland park is the catchment school.

We are moving from a distance however and don’t know much about the area at all really!

We are Colinhill Grange too. So far really liking Strathaven and the development itself.

Excellent, that’s great to know.

Can I ask, did you buy the Robertson or Stewart Milne houses?

I went to Kirkland Park! I had friends that went to both and neither seem to have suffered. Kirkland park is close to strathaven academy and the sports centre, we used to do activities in the sports centre and could walk across. We were a placement request when we moved as we visited both schools and felt most welcome there. However this was about 17 years ago. Head teachers have changed since then but I think you'll be ok either way. The issue with all strathaven schools at the moment is that the new builds have added extra children but no extra schools. Strathaven academy constantly comes out quite high in league tables.

Thanks.

@Haribolover is Wester Overton walkable from the development would you say? We might be considering Wester Overton for personal reasons but wondered if I’d be limiting myself to driving everyday which I’d like to avoid.

Also with the Robertson house, how do you find the quality/aftercare?
