Never heard it, wouldn’t know how to pronounce it, and definitely wouldn’t pronounce it like Zachary.

annualleavepurchase · 16/01/2020 13:10

No, and I wouldn't even know how to pronounce it

Boireannachlaidir · 16/01/2020 13:31

Never heard of it either Confused

OnTheEdgeOfTheNight · 16/01/2020 13:32

People will pronounce it "sgarey" to rhyme with scary.

ParkheadParadise · 16/01/2020 13:33

Never heard of it.

chipsandpeas · 16/01/2020 13:34

Never heard of it

Aquilla · 16/01/2020 13:35

What? Is it like Sigard? Plenty of those in the north, north.

readsalotgirl63 · 16/01/2020 19:02

Glaswegian living in the NE and have lived in the central highlands and never heard it

Lordfrontpaw · 16/01/2020 19:04

Glaswegian here - is it a typo?

IHaveBrilloHair · 16/01/2020 19:05

No, don't do it.
Even Balonz is better than that.

iMatter · 16/01/2020 19:07

Why on earth would you burden a child with a name a) no one can pronounce b) he'd have to spell on an almost daily basis

That's a really really stupid, attention seeking thing to do

Clangus00 · 16/01/2020 19:08

Never heard of it.

iMatter · 16/01/2020 19:09

Sorry - the stupidity is your husband's, not yours!

Galvantula · 16/01/2020 19:14

Nope

user1493494961 · 16/01/2020 19:16

Just go with Zachary (show your husband these responses).

LidlDonkey · 16/01/2020 19:17

It looks ugly and I'm sure most people would not know how to pronounce it.

Clangus00 · 16/01/2020 19:18

Just googled how it’s pronounced “Skarra” apparently.

TitianaTitsling · 16/01/2020 19:24

Never heard of it! Have been all over Scotland from St Kilda to Hawick and never come across it! What about Innes if wanting an lesser used Scottish name?

Mrsjayy · 16/01/2020 19:48

Skarra sounds nothing like Zachary so your dh is wrong.

Corneliawildthing · 16/01/2020 21:43

Never heard of it. There's nothing worse than a kid growing up with a name nobody's ever heard of and the poor thing has to continually spell it. At least with Zackary it wouldn't have to do that Hmm

zoobincan · 16/01/2020 21:45

Never heard of that one.

Helspopje · 16/01/2020 21:45

Scottish
Never heard of it (paediatrician so I hear lots of bling bling names
Not a fan

TheThingWithFeathers · 16/01/2020 21:50

Maybe in Scotland, Georgia!

StoorieHoose · 16/01/2020 21:51

Are either of you Scottish or speak Gaelic or live in Scotland?

happycamper11 · 16/01/2020 22:13

From the Scottish Borders, now lived in Edinburgh for several years - never seen that before and I work in schools so come across many many names. I'd imagine he'd have a life time explaining/spelling it.
