University offers

So excited and surprised that DS heard from HW today - does anyone know what timescales to expect from other universities? Wondering about St Andrews in particular.

Well done in your ds offer! It’s an exciting time. We are waiting in St Andrews too for my Dd but my son is already there. They take ages to respond as for home/ eu students wait until after the Jan deadline. 3 years ago my son heard mid Feb but I know of a few last year who were the very end of March.
Having said that we expected a long wait from Edinburgh and had one within 3 weeks. There is another thread called moving on up( sorry I can’t link) have a look there as it’s a place to chat about upper school, uni, college etc.

DD applied 8 weeks ago and heard from Edinburgh after a week but hasn't heard from her other two choices (Glasgow and StA). She looked up TSR and last year StA only started offering for her subject at the beginning of March and offers continued until the end of March. Some other subjects at StA are quicker - niece got offer early February a couple of years ago for Psychology.

Friends DS has unconditional offers in for chemistry / Bio Chemistry at Glasgow and Strathclyde.

So obviously some unis don’t wait until 15 January.
