Anybody live here? Whats it like?

We have viewed a few houses here, in Bearsden and in Milton of Campsie.

Anyone got any thoughts, we need 4 beds and a decent secondary school for our dc.

Friends live there & really love it. There seems to be a good sense of community- although Lenzie itself doesn't have much of a centre/focal point. Plenty to do for children, good transport links & good for commuting.

The only thing I would be aware of is that some of the new development houses go to Kirkintilloch high, which is nowhere near as good as Lenzie - so check carefully.

I know quite a lot of people who live there. Some really like it - very safe, nice neighbours. Very handy for commuting in various directions
But there aren't much amenities immediately available - it's quite a large development and just a spar corner shop. One of my friends there on mat leave gets frustrated that she just has to wander around the estate with her baby in pram and if she wants to e.g. go for coffee or to a class she has to drive. The Cala houses do seem to be decent quality and size for new builds.

A friend of mine lives there, her house backs onto the railway line. I think they were built by Charles Church. She has 2 teenagers and it suits them well. Able to walk to school and they have the Spar and the restaurant in the old gatehouse. Good commuting location. They pay out a bit to the factors though, and for another bill through for some digging up of a road.

Oh thats all really helpful, thanks.

We are looking for quiet, safe, good transport links We have secondary age dc, are there good local activities for them?

Is Kirkintilloch high well regarded too? It looks to be very near Lenzie in secondary listings.

What is Kirkintilloch like as a town?

Factors! I had forgotten about them. Is it very expensive?
