Nicest Edinburgh hotel

Any suggestions on which you think the nicest hotel in Edinburgh city centre is at Christmas time?
There isn't really a budget. Stayed in the George last year which was lovely but might want to try something else as I didn't really think the room was 'luxury' iyswim?
This is for my DH and my once a year treat
We're going to see the lion king and have a nice dinner & drinks. Maybe a look round the Christmas markets the following day before heading home.

I’ve never stayed as I go to Edinburgh with work and they book me a premier inn Grin but I’ve eaten here and looked around and it’s amazing!

@Chelsea26 oh wow it looks amazing. Have sent the link over to DH to see what he thinks.

Witchery every time

LizzieMacQueen · 16/09/2019 12:43

Or the Prestonfield, that's part of the Witchery group too. A little further out so you'd need to rely on taxis. Was there for dinner, b & b last week. It was fab.

Preston field is beautiful and peaceful too, being out of the city centre.

The Glasshouse?

I'd like to stay here some time... love the location (Charlotte Square) and it looks beautiful from the outside!

One place I've stayed which I love (but may not suit your occasion) is Old Town Chambers - 5 star apartments just off the Royal Mile. They are stunning! I'm sure they'd be able to arrange quality catering for you too if you wanted.

The Balmoral?

5 minute walk from the playhouse

Groovee · 16/09/2019 14:56

I spent my wedding night in the balmoral. It was amazing.

iwantluxury · 16/09/2019 15:18

Oh I like the look of the balmoral too. It's about £400 cheaper.

It's an amazing place, plus you can't get any more city centreSmile

I like the Bonham, the Glasshouse & the Grand.

Bigger chains are Waldorf Astoria, Nira Caledonia, Balmoral.
