What are your kids up to at this age?

skateboarding lessons (so that he can eventually just turn up at the skatepark for an hour or so and skate) link- SIL got her son a board second hand to start with off ebay

My son has been playing golf at the public park and going to driving range.

My 17 year old is doing a 2 week summer school and a week language course (for a language she's going to pick up next year). Rest of time chilling with friends and doing her sport.

My DS2 had the same problem last year with his McDs summer job - didn't get enough hours. Stuck it out for the summer and found a better job for this year where he gets all the hours he wants.

Ds who is 16 is away with us just now. But lots of lawn bowling ties lined up when back. Dd has a job working in playschemes for children with additional needs.

Clerk Maxwell, can you tell me a bit about the language course thanks

Came back from a school trip and decided she's wants to learn mandarin. She can drop an AH and do an OU Yass instead at school. Signed up for a week's intensive course at Glasgow uni to get an idea of whether she can manage or not. Not sure what other summer language courses are offered.

Thanks for letting me know.

Take a pal & go to sharmanka. Be a tourist in her own city essentially, so much hidden stuff in Glasgow.
Could look at doing some classes with aerial edge at kelvin hall?

MotherofaCat · 10/07/2019 22:09

There are loads of music festivals and upcoming gigs in Glasgow over the summer.

The aerial thing looks fun but it's not cheap! He's got a festival to go to. It's a hard age isn't it, stuck between school and uni, first job but not many hours till they prove themselves...
